CAA’S 2024 Member Exhibit BEST IN SHOW:

Diamond Drill #2, colored pencil by Andrea Placer

“Diamond Drill Shapes and Shadows” was inspired by a rusted piece of drilling machinery at an abandoned copper mining site in Arizona. I was attracted by the colors, shapes and patterns that to me are quite beautiful.

Judge Judith Hummer's comments: “This piece has a well thought out composition. The warm dominance makes for a very harmonious piece. The deep intricacies of the inner workings of the machinery make an interesting abstract quality to the design.”
